IWD 2026: Celebrating the Women of Woodley Coles

Yesterday’s International Women’s Day gave us a moment to reflect on the brilliant women, Rebecca, Ellie, Emily, Vicky, Pam & Christine, who bring insight, leadership and determination to everything they do!

Their commitment to engaging in conversations about women in construction, and to championing representation across our industry, continues to inspire us and resonates strongly with this year’s theme, “Give to Gain.”

Women remain significantly underrepresented in construction, making up around 15% of the UK construction workforce overall and circa 1% of skilled trades roles on site. While progress is happening, these figures highlight just how important it is that women’s voices are heard, visible and empowered within our sector.

As we continue these conversations throughout the week, it’s a valuable reminder to all that small, consistent actions help drive meaningful change.
