What a treat it was for our Emily and Ellie to attend the DIIC Diversity and Inclusion In Construction Conference at Canterbury Christ Church University yesterday, celebrating diversity and inclusion within the Built Environment.
Emily and Ellie loved connecting with like-minded professionals to debate this important topic, with Ellie chairing a panel with industry disruptors who are challenging the status quo. The panel was on the topic of ‘Diversity and Inclusion from Blueprint to Build’, exploring inclusive construction practices in the Housing sector. Emily represented the RICS Matrics UK, London & South East for Kent and also featured in the DIIC Diversity and Inclusion In Construction podcast, discussing actions we can take to inspire the future workforce in our industry.
At Woodley Coles LLP, we actively support the next generation of construction professionals through our Apprentice Programme. If we don’t support emerging talent into the Built Environment, our industry will be sure to fail in the future.
As the saying goes, it takes a village and it was great to join a conference with other organisations striving to tackle the skills crisis in the same way we are. Thank you to Faith Abudu for inviting us to be part of this movement!
