Reflections on International Women’s Day

Last week was a big one for us at Woodley Coles LLP, with two of our colleagues out representing and championing women in construction.

Ellie was proud to support DIIC Diversity and Inclusion In Construction at their IWD event with Kier Group at HMP Elmley, where she chaired a panel on the barriers women continue to face in the industry and the actions we can take to help them thrive. She also joined Jenner (Contractors) Ltd to deliver a careers talk to East Kent Colleges Group’s Built Environment students, inspiring the next generation coming into our sector.

Meanwhile, in her role as Regional Chair of RICS Matrics UK, London & South East, Emily headed to HQ to help organise a multidisciplinary IWD panel and networking activity, where woman shared their experiences and highlighted the value that a diverse workforce brings to our industry.

This year’s theme, hashtag#GiveToGain, served as a powerful reminder that progress happens when everyone shows up as an ally – not just women supporting women, but all of us supporting each other.
