Strip Out Works Progressing at Boathouse 5, Portsmouth
This month, Emily and Ellie visited one of our heritage restoration projects within Portsmouth Historic Quarter for the monthly valuation and progress meeting.
With ambitious programme targets in place, it was fantastic to see the strip out works well underway by appointed contractor HP Contracts. As a listed building, it’s particularly rewarding to uncover and preserve the original historic structure, revealing features that have been hidden behind later alterations and boarding over the years.
We were also delighted to be joined by Savannah, a student from Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys, on work experience where we were able to show her a live construction site in action.
Once complete, Boathouse 5 will provide an important events space for Portsmouth Historic Quarter, further supporting them as one of the city’s key heritage visitor attractions.
We’re looking forward to returning next month as the next phase of installations begins and the heritage transformation continues.
